Raf is now an independent developer, and was a senior programmer and project administrator for GUI Computing prior to that. He likes to refer to himself as
"El Guapo", which he thinks means "good looking"
but actually means "the pretty one"
A Brief History...
- Born Sydney Australia, September 24, 1972. Rumoured to have been the
hairiest baby ever born to a human.
- Raised mostly in Sale, East Gippsland, until completion of Year 12 in
1990 at which point I decided to move to the city to seek fame and fortune.
- Studied (and completed) BA. of Information Technology at Swinburne
between 1991 and 1994.
- Have also spent the last five years moving in and out of home,
seem to have settled in Greensborough. Living with my parents definitely
beats doing my own cooking, cleaning and ironing. I've lived in enough
bachelor pad filth pits to last me a life time.
- After Uni spent two years working at Phillip Morris as a
programmer/analyst come corporate bully-boy tobacco kingpin (not),
which was fun. Then signed up with GUI Computing in January of 1996.
Some Stupid Things I've Done...
- Stuck my hand in a toaster when picking it up, and got a nasty electric shock.
My hair stood on end for about three days after that.
- Drove my car while drunk, and copped a 14 month suspension.
But I met some really nice people at the Alcohol Re-Education Classes.
- Attempted to learn electric guitar, but after spending fistfuls of
cash on lessons and equipment, I decided that I really could not be bothered.
Interests and Past Times...
- Most Sports, especially soccer.
- A keen student of the Spanish language.
- Karate - yet my progress has been set back by my mother
putting my white belt in the washing machine, which means I now have
trouble focusing my chi.
