Q. Any suggestions on the best book, training manual, method to begin learning client/server programming with VB4? Simple, straight to the point, cut to the chase type of instruction for the person with limited time. I'd like (need) to rewrite some of my apps on networks for client/server instead.

A. Ringo,

For covering the issues of client/server with VB4 the best book I am aware of is 'Client/Server Programming with Microsoft® Visual Basic®' by Microsoft Press. You can get the spiel on it by going to MSPress site once again.

I hope this helps you out. 'The Hitchhiker's Guide to Visual Basic® and SQL Server(tm), Fourth Edition' is available within Australia from GUI Computing. Good luck with the Client/Server stuff. It's really cool once you get into it.
